I thought it was about time to provide some basic information about the CTICC, and I'll be adding more pictures soon to give you an idea of the ultra modern design and sheer size.
The CTICC was officially opened to international trade and business in June 2003. Its strategic location on Cape Town's Foreshore within easy reach of the V&A Waterfront, the CBD and major hotels, makes for easy access to the centre and its state-of-the-art facilities.
Cape Town's Convention Centre is the latest of 3 such centres to be established countrywide. The others are situated in Durban ICC and in Sandton SCC. Together these venues have become a major drawcard for Business tourism in South Africa.
The main features of the Cape Town International Convention Centre include some 10,000 m2 of exhibition space which can be divided up into multiple conference or banquet venues, two high tech auditoriums with seating space for some 600 delegates, an extensive ballroom with magnificent views and several 'breakout' rooms. There is also an advanced kitchen facility which is said to be the largest in the Western Cape and which can be easily accessed from all CTICC venues.
The exhibition space is used for various trade fairs, industry and consumer displays, eg. building industry, computer fairs and home interest events.

The CTICC is conveniently adjoined by one of the most luxurious hotels in Cape Town, the Westin Grand Hotel which provides access for delegates to some 483 rooms, and there are plenty of other top class hotels within easy reach.

The Cape Town International Jazz Festival
This annual musical extravaganza which has become a showcase for local talent, was previously known as the North Sea Jazz Festival after its prestigious counterpart which is held annually in Den Haag Holland. The Cape Town Jazz Festival of March 2006 was the 7th such event and one of the most memorable staged at Cape Town's International Convention Centre. This year's festival was made unique by its 50/50 split between local and international artists. Cape Town International Jazz Festival
