Cape Town Helicopter Tours
Helicopter Tours around the Cape
Please inform me where I can get more information regarding helicopter tours and where they take off from.
There is a range of scenic charter helicopter tours available from Cape Town. The flights start at the V&A Waterfront and vary in length.
The helicopter charter rates are based on the number of people conveyed and start at around ZAR2,700 per two persons. I've listed some of the tour options below.
20 mins Two Bay Helicopter Tour This flight follows the Atlantic coastline over Clifton, Llandudno and Hout Bay, then around Table Mountain back to the Waterfront for a glass of wine.
30 mins Two Oceans Helicopter Tour Follow the Atlantic beach route, then over Noordhoek, FishHoek and Muizenberg beaches, over Groot Constantia wine farm and around table Mountain, back to the Waterfront for a glass of wine.
60 Minute Cape Point Peninsula Helicopter Tour Follow the Atlantic beach route and beyond to Scarborough, over the Cape Peninsula Nature Reserve. Then over Simon's Town Naval Base, Fish Hoek, Muizenberg and Constantia Valley and return via Table Mountain to the V&A Waterfront for a glass of wine.
These Cape Town helicopter tours can be combined by arrangement with a lunch at a wine farm at Stellenbosch or Franschhoek.

Game Reserve near Cape Town
by James Huchthausen
(USA)
Are there any game reserves near Cape Town?
The nearest Big 5 wildlife game reserve is situated 170kms from Cape Town. It's a private game reserve and there are a variety of overnight and day safari packages available, including horse-back and quad bike safaris.
You'll see a wide range of wild animals and birds, and enjoy luxury accommodation as well as gourmet African style food.
You'll also find that your experience on the game reserve will turn out to be highly educational in terms of conservation, nature and environment.
Transport can be provided from Cape Town and back as required.

Cape Town Whale Viewing
by Canita
(Brazil)
Is December to January a good time for whale watching? I was told that this time of the year there are no whales.
December/January is late in the year for whale viewing. Best time of the year is May - November and especially between August and October which is when the whales gather offshore to mate and calve.
