They are small and grimy, with lots of rocks and clumps of seaweed at low tide. The sea in this area is not suitable or safe enough for swimming - apart from a sheltered tidal pool, but locals and visitors have the option of making use of the recently modernised municipal swimming pool complex on the beach front which is open during the warmer months and which offers plenty of space for family picnics and recreation.
