Scenic Overberg Accommodation

The Overberg is the most interesting and diverse region of the Western Cape
The early Cape settlers called it 'Overberg' which means - 'Other side of the mountain' and if you're a lover of local history and nature then you don't want to miss this pristine coastal area. It's the most southerly region on the African continent.
So much to see and do in the Overberg, all the more reason for you to arrange your Overberg accommodation. What's more the many natural wonders of the region are situated within 2 hours of Cape Town.
You'll discover historic villages, extensive nature reserves, sandy beaches and coastal caves carved out by the surf. Not forgetting the Southern Right whales which can be observed from the cliffs in many places along the coast.
You have a choice of two routes into the Overberg. The busy N2 is the most direct. Drive out of Cape Town past the International Airport and over Sir Lowry's Pass through the orchards and wheat fields to Caledon and Swellendam, branching off as required.
The alternative winding coastal route is also busy at times but passes through some of the finest coastal scenery in the Cape - like Betty's Bay with it's unique Harold Porter botanical gardens, and penguin colony, and then on through to Kleinmond, Hermanus and Gansbaai.
There is plenty of Overberg accommodation available in the quaint towns you'll find along the way. Click on the orange buttons below to make your choice.
