Drive out of Cape Town past the International Airport and over Sir Lowry's Pass through the orchards and wheat fields to Caledon and Swellendam, branching off as required. The alternative winding coastal route is also busy at times but passes through some of the finest coastal scenery in the Cape - like Betty's Bay with it's unique Harold Porter botanical gardens, and penguin colony, and then on through to Kleinmond, Hermanus and Gansbaai.
